A variation of the poster for TUFF
Last week I mentioned the pain I was feeling from those first few workouts. That was no real surprise, since I’ve been through it many times after a long lay off. However, some of the aches seemed a little deeper than usual and by Friday night I found out why. I had four days of the flu coming to me.
Now you folks might be way more useful than I am when I’m down with a flu, but I tend to pretty much become an unshaven, blanket covered, lump that periodically transitions from a bed to a couch and makes strange groaning noises when poked with a stick. These are the glamorous moments when I realize just how much my wife and kids love me, because it’s sure not for my charm or my looks.
As for the process of moving ahead with the physical transformation for TUFF, the flu isn’t all bad. Not that I encourage it as a training strategy, but the flu does rev up a metabolism and do a job burning off some body fat. It may not be as pretty as a morning jog, but there’s still a silver lining in there if I dig deep enough, at least till I’m back in the gym tomorrow.
Now from my above remarks, I may have you thinking I wasn’t able to do anything about moving TUFF ahead. Well I did have a couple of lucid moments. Early on Saturday I had a brief script review meeting and now have a ton of positive reaction and a number of reasonably minor revisions that have to be set into the script.
So despite the flu, progress has been made and tomorrow will be another Naturally Massive training day.

PS
Blog member ‘Bohdi’ offered up an accronym for everyone training along with me here, as Tuff is turned into a real on screen character for the eventual production of the movie TUFF. The accronym is TUFF (‘Training Unanymously For Freedom’). So feel free to “Get TUFF” everyone and thank for the contribution Bohdi.
